Instructions:
To make front of candy corn, start with a slip knot on the crochet hook in white yarn and a ch 2.
Row 1 (white): In the 2nd ch from the hook, work 2 sc (2). Turn.
Row 2 (white): Ch 1. Work 2 sc in the first st, and 2 sc in the next st (4). Turn.
Rows 3-6 (white): Ch 1. Work 2 sc in the first st, and 1 sc in each of the remaining stitches (5, 6, 7, 8). End by joining with orange yarn, but leaving a 48” tail of white yarn. Turn.
Rows 7-12 (orange): Ch 1. Work 2 sc in the first st, and 1 sc in each of the remaining stitches (9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14). End by joining with yellow yarn, but leaving a 24” tail of orange yarn. Turn.
Rows 13-18 (yellow): Ch 1. Work 2 sc in the first st, and 1 sc in each of the remaining stitches (15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20). Cut off yarn and weave in yellow end.
Add the eyes and smile in the 3rd to 4th row of the yellow section of the front of the candy corn using safety eyes and black scrap yarn. With a q-tip and a little blush, I also add rosy cheeks.
To make back of candy corn, repeat pattern above as one continuous triangle, in orange yarn only. Cut off yarn and weave in ends.
To finish, crochet the front and back of the candy corn together using coinciding colored yarn from each section: Front facing and starting with yellow yarn in the top left yellow section, single crochet around, placing 4 sc in each corner. As you approach the orange section, use the 24” tail to sc together the orange section closed. Similarly, as you approach the white section, use the 48” tail to sc together the white section. Before using additional orange yarn to completely close, stuff the candy corn, ensuring the stuffing is worked into all corners. Finish closing the orange section with orange yarn. Tie off and weave in all ends.
