Weave Through Scarflette
For those of you who don’t like a lot of bulk with a traditional scarf, this Weave Through Scarflette is a perfect option. This unique scarflette weaves into itself to hold in place - no tying necessary. It crochets up quickly with the use of bulky yarn.

Materials:
Yarn: 109 yards, bulky (weight 5) yarn - shown in Loops & Threads, Charisma (1 skein total)
Hooks: M/9.00mm
Abbreviations:
blo - back loop only
ch - chain
hdc - half double crochet
sk - skip
sl st - slip stitch
st - stitch
Gauge:
9 hdc = 4”; 3 hdc rows = 2”
Instructions:
Start with ch 71
Row 1: hdc in the 2nd ch from hook, then continue to hdc in the next 50 st, ch 5 & sk 5 st, hdc in the last 14 st, turn
Row 2: ch 1, hdc in the 1st st, hdc blo in the next 13 st, ch 5 & sk 5, hdc blo in the next 50 st, hdc in the last st, turn
Row 3: ch 1, hdc in the 1st st, hdc blo in the next 50 st, ch 5 & sk 5, hdc blo in the next 13 st, hdc in the last st, turn
Rows 4-9: repeat rows 2 & 3, 3 more times.
Row 10: repeat row 2. Tie off and weave in ends.
There will be a total of 11 ch5 “ropes” across. The finished scarflette should measure about 31” long x 7” wide.

Tip: You can increase the length of this scarflette by adding any even amount of starting chains. Simply add 1 hdc to each hdc section of the scarflette. For example, you could start with ch 81, then continue with 56 hdc, ch 5 & sk 5, then 19 hdc. Or if you only want one section of the scarflette longer, then you can increase the number of starting chains on that side of the scarflette. For example, you could start with ch 81, then continue with 61 hdc, ch 5 & sk 5, then 14 hdc. I suggest trying on the scarflette after row 2 to see how it fits and feels.
